Good deal!

I was reading The Broke-Ass Bride this morning (love her!) and she’d posted some ways to find amazing deals…half off of restaurant gift certificates, etc. So excited about this!

This is a great site for half-off deals of all sorts (restaurants, golf, massages, whatever) that is searchable by zip code.

Here’s another great site. (Click on ‘visit more cities’ at the top to see the cities in which deals are available.)

Have fun!

update and Stompy Stomperton

My friend’s husband is home and doing fine. 🙂

The guy who lives above me is not a large man. I’ve only seen him once or twice, and I don’t know his name, but I do know that he’s not a big guy. If you were sitting in my living room this afternoon, though, you would not think so. I’ve taken to calling him Stompy. I’m not sure what his story is.

This Isn’t That Day

I was seeking a little motivation today…posted it as my FB status, as a matter of fact. I’d had a seriously crappy run and was not feeling particularly moved to do anything beyond lay in bed and feel sorry for myself. (I did not lay in bed and I only spent a small amount of time feeling sorry for myself.) Anyway, one of my friends commented on my status and reminded me that there would be a day that I cannot do this any more, and that today is not that day. Just the right balance of encouragement and a kick in the pants.

I’ve been thinking a lot tonight about the things in my life for which I’m thankful. My friend’s husband is in the hospital for what is apparently a recurring problem. He’s fairly young and otherwise healthy, so this is pretty unsettling. Besides praying for their family (their kids are understandably upset about all of this), I’ve been giving thanks for all the blessings in my life. There are a lot of things that go nearly unnoticed on a day-to-day basis, but when I stop to really think about it, I realize that I am very fortunate, indeed.

Sam & Ella

Am I nuts for expecting my chicken to be bagged separately?

I bring reusable totes to the grocery store (when I remember to put them back into my car and then take them into the store). Twice now my chicken has been put into the tote sans plastic bag. I get that the whole point of reusable bags is to cut down on plastic bag use, but it’s CHICKEN.

I know I’m a little weird when it comes to germs, but I don’t consider myself a *total* germophobe. I mean, I practice the 5-second rule. I’m normal, right?

easy 2

I have an easy 2 miles scheduled today. Since I’m having dinner with friends later, I need to head out, oh, about now. Running’s been a little tough lately. Non-major pain has been making it mentally difficult to keep going. I’m hoping this cloud lifts and my mojo comes back soon.

I’d better get moving. It’s 83 degrees but only 59% humidity. Road? Treadmill? If I hit the road, I don’t have to drive to the gym…and it’s only 2 miles…

Alright, I’m going now.
